Canada Games

The Canada Games brings together more than 3,000 athletes and athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities for the largest amateur multi-sport event in the country.

Team Requirements/Selection Process

​Age ClassificationUnder 19 as of December 31, 2026(Year of birth: 2008 or later)

Team Size: 3 Males, 3 Females, 1 Coach, 1 Manager

Tryout 2 concluded on October 4, 2025; thanks for those that showed up!

Tryout 3 is set for Sunday, November 9th at Heritage Collegiate in Lethbridge, NL. Deadline to register for that will be Thursday, November 6th. Please email me indicating that you/your child will be attending to register. Similar to the first tryout the morning will be a training camp and the afternoon will be the tryout. $20 fee cash only for all athletes attending either the training camp and/or tryout. Labrador athletes don’t have to pay. The training portion is optional and exact time of tryout will be determined as it gets closer but it is likely to start around noon.

The Canada Games Council has named Québec as the official Host city of the 2027 Canada Winter Games, marking a return to the birthplace of the Canada Games 60 years after the inaugural event held in 1967. From February 27 - March 14, the province of Quebec will host the Canada Games for a fourth time, after previously hosting the 2013 Canada Summer Games in Sherbrooke, the 1983 Canada Winter Games in Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, and the first-ever Canada Games in Québec in 1967.

The 2023 Canada Winter Games will be held February 18 to March 5 2023 in Prince Edward Island. Table Tennis is an official sport that will take place during the first week of the games.  Competition will from February 19 - 24 involving provincial teams of 2 male and 2 female athletes.

Red Deer 2019

In June 2018 the selection for Team NL for the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta became official. The final team will consist of Sarah Warren, Karlee Warren, Laura Callahan, Ty Winsor, Michael Hiscock and Tyler Green. Madison Clarke and Adrian Green have also been selected as alternates and Mark Warren Is the Head Coach.
