NLTTA Travels To The West Coast

Updated: Dec 3, 2023

The first Saturday in November saw table tennis players from across the island competing in Corner Brook, NL. The Western Open was played at Corner Brook Regional High School on November 4, 2023 and the last time we held a Western Open was 2016 in Pasadena.

The second tournament of the season saw lots of competitive spirit on display in all twelve events including rated singles, age events and Team NL qualifying events which provided an excellent day of competitive table tennis. In the Rated A Singles final Junior Peter Quinlan captured the title over Jeremy Lehr. In the Senior Male Qualifier event, Jeremy Lehr and Peter Quinlan met again, however this time Jeremy took the title by beating Peter giving Jeremy two podium finishes in the Senior Male Qualifier event in the two tournaments held this season.

For a full rundown of the tournament visit the Western Open results page.

There was a good turn out from players from all regions of the Island. Some high school players and players from College of the North Atlantic and Grenfell Campus came out for the tournament. The venue was fantastic and we would like to thank Corner Brook Regional High and Aubrey Sanders for hosting us.

As the 2023 calendar year winds down we are getting ready for the Paradise Open scheduled for November 25, 2023 which will be held at the Rotary Youth and Community Center, 1 Sarah Davis Way, Paradise. It is expected to be an exciting tournament so why not head over to the registration portal to register and get in on the action! The Registration deadline is November 17, 2023.
